We are first time shareholders this year and are absolutely loving all of the YUM that is all up on our plates this summer!! I have been enjoying challenging myself to cook new things and to be taking a more seasonal and mindful, less controlled approach to eating and cooking! Not that Angelic and Farmer John don't make to super easy to meal plan and know what is coming your way - their communications are wonderful and the Local Thyme meal planning service is great also - but it's been a 'real treat' (food pun) to really let the produce drive our eating. Very good Farm. Their veggies are so tasty. They are nutritionally cheap. The farm grows only 1 lb of tomatoes in a place that can grow 3 lb of tomatoes, as it does not use any pesticide or fertilizer. As a result, lot of soil micro nutrients are in all the veggies they grow. Good crop rotation and live stock, which in turn supply natural manure. Instead of getting fooled by terms "Natural" ,"Cage Free" and their meaning change at will, rely on "Trust And Transparency" and buy from this farm....You can see the farm and its buildings any time, no ifs/buts....How many food producers can say that ? 6 months after eating from the farm, you will see the health get better for really old and really young kids, starting from skin health....I saw it for my family.
Angelic Organics' CSA helps you eat seasonally and locally. I've been a member for 4 years and I love it. It will change the way you eat and the way you think about food. Cannot be more positive about the veggie share!
Last year was our first year joining this CSA and we LOVED it. The produce you get in each box is phenomenal, changing as the season changed. We even did the extended share into Oct/November. I cooked/prepped a variety of new veggies and green that I had never tried before. I also did the home delivery every other week and it was perfect. Can't wait for the season to kick off again this year, we are already signed up!
We have lived in Boone county for over 11 years now and have struggled to find good produce. We found this farm recently and it was like discovering gold! Their sweet corn is beautiful and absolutely delicious! My family and I agree that it's the best we've ever had. We have had almost every vegetable and they are all so good! I'm excited to cook again and being a vegetarian, I'm excited to eat veggies again! They are wonderful people and we feel so lucky to have them so close to our home!
